PALM READING GUIDE
Which hand do you read in palmistry: left or right?
Short answer: read both, but start with your dominant hand. Most palmistry traditions treat the dominant hand as the life you are actively shaping and the other hand as your natural tendencies. Here is how that works, including the left-handed case and the old male/female rule.

No sign-up. The AI reads your life, head and heart lines from one palm photo, and the photo is deleted after the reading.
The dominant hand: what you are doing now
The hand you write with is used more, and palmists read it as your present: your choices, habits and the direction you are taking. If you only want to read one hand, this is the one.
If you are right-handed, that is your right hand. If you are left-handed, it is your left.
The other hand: what you started with
The non-dominant hand is read as your inborn temperament and potential — the baseline before life experience. Comparing the two shows where you have kept to your nature and where you have changed it.
Small differences between hands are normal. A noticeably longer or deeper line on the dominant hand is usually read as something you have developed through effort.
The “men left, women right” rule
In traditional Chinese palmistry there is an older rule: read the left hand for men and the right hand for women. You will still see it in many Asian palm reading guides, and it is why the question “which hand for palm reading female” comes up so often.
Modern readers mostly use the dominant-hand rule regardless of gender, and many traditional readers now look at both. If you follow the classical rule, it is still worth checking your dominant hand for comparison.
When your hands look very different
Very different lines on each hand are often read as a big change between your natural tendencies and your current life — a career switch, a move, or a different way of handling relationships.
Before reading too much into it, check the photos: different lighting or angles can make the same kind of line look very different. Photograph both hands in the same light and from the same distance.
Reading both hands with AI
You can scan one hand, then the other, and compare. Take both photos in the same spot and the same light, and keep each palm flat and filling the frame, so differences come from your lines and not from the camera.
FAQ
Which hand is read for females in palmistry?
Traditional Chinese palmistry reads the right hand for women and the left for men. Most modern readers instead read the dominant hand for everyone, and compare it with the other hand.
I'm left-handed. Which hand should I read?
Your left hand is your dominant hand, so read it as your present and your right hand as your natural tendencies.
Can my palm lines change?
Palmists say the dominant hand changes more over the years than the other hand. Fine lines do change; the three main lines usually stay broadly similar.
